Coming Soon...

I'm changing up my Etsy store by way of developing a specified line of luxury baby items. I'm really excited about it and I don't want to say too much yet. It won't change the way I do local business, but I'm hoping it will better cater to my internet customers. Stay tuned...

Monkey Sisters

I'm getting together with a handful of girlfriends tonight for a baby shower dinner. I usually don't share a gift on the blog before I have given it, but I'm assuming everyone is busy getting ready to go right now, and not in front of their computers. This shower is for a friend's second baby girl, so I thought it would be fun to do new sibling shirts. I really think these are just too cute, I'm definitely going to make something monkey for my girls soon!

To see more monkey stuff, check out my new online friend, Amy's , blog. She made the cutest monkey outfit for her daughter.

Shirt For a Special Outing

One of my girl friends is taking her little guy to a Bob the Builder show soon. Luke just loves "Bob the Bubba" and anything construction, tools, etc. She asked me to help her make a special shirt for their mommy and son date. We went shopping together to pick out all of the supplies, and Erika hung out while me and my machine stitched out the design (that's a plus of doing this sort of work - an excuse for girl time!). We were both really excited about the result, but even more important, Luke was excited! Here is a little customer review...
"Thanks, for Lukie's shirt, his eyes tripled in size when he saw it. And yelled Bob the Bubba just like I knew he would. He thinks it's cool and wants to keep looking at it. You have one very small, but happy customer. He doesn't speak well, but I'm sure he would leave a review if you want one. :)"

Etsy Saturday

Just a vision...Finished!
I did not quite pull together Etsy Saturday this week :( I like to contact sellers ahead of time to get permission to feature their products, but I am on vacation this week and I forgot. Anyway, instead, here are some pics of the girl's Easter baskets that I pulled together at the last minute (sort of fru fru, but fun I think) and some links to a couple of my all time favorite Etsy shops. Enjoy and Happy Easter!!!

Etsy Saturday!

I am starting a new Sniglets blog tradition - "Etsy Saturday"! I have noticed that Saturdays and Sundays are very slow days on Etsy :( So, in an attempt to inspire all of you to "buy handmade" on the weekends, I am going to start featuring a favorite item from an Etsy seller (other than myself) every week! This week's favorite are these sweet charms from elibomdesigns.

" These charms are painted in a chocolate color and you choose the accent color. The perfect accessory for diaper bags and purses! EliBom charms make a perfect addition to any of the EliBom gifts. Attach them to your diaper bag, your purse, hang in the nursery on a dresser or armoire knob, or even the closet door knob. Use as a gift topper or as party favors at a shower. Endless possibilities!" ($4.00)

I think they would be great tied on Easter baskets too! Kelsi at Elibom has lots of other super cute personalized items, so be sure to visit her shop. You can also visit my Etsy favorites any time during the week by going to http://www.etsy.com/favorite_listings.php. Happy shopping!

Couture

Fabric by Amy Butler
It is April, and I am just now finding time to play with the sewing machine that Ben gave me for Christmas. This is what happens when you plug in Becoming Jane and sew until 4:00 am... a stroke of genius! I didn't use a pattern, just good old fashioned measuring and studying some pictures on Etsy. First thing this morning, I drove the dress (with Evie in it because she refused to take it off) to my mom's so that she could give me an "atta-girl!" I'm feeling pretty proud of my toddler couture and I am just itching to make some more! I already ordered some more fabric today!!!

BTW: Ev is wearing a hair clip from one of my new favorite Etsy sellers, check out Strawberry Swirl here!
