Many of you will be receiving this invitation through e-mail or Etsy convo, but for anyone I have missed, you have just been invited via blog! I've been working really hard to get ready for this event, making some exciting changes to my business, and working with other vendors I think you'll be happy to meet. Don't miss out!!!

Bed Rest and Web Shopping

Now that I've been put on bed rest half way through my pregnancy, you'll be seeing more examples of my web "window shopping" adventures. Today I discovered a new (great!) site for babies and kids. I love, LOVE, this little personalized bunny. I've been trying to think of one sweet keepsake to give to Anabelle for Christmas (yes, I think very far ahead). Anyway, check out this store... http://www.kookoobearkids.com/ .

Savannah: Shopping, Collecting, and Some Inspiration

We took a day trip to Savannah yesterday, it was blissful as usual. Savannah is without a doubt my favorite city for shopping. Here, I've posted some pictures of my prized purchases. I found the best ribbon and trim, all of which will be used in some of my upcoming projects (stay tuned for more creations!) I was also elated that I was able to start a Jennifer Murphy collection for Evie (OK, it's for me too). Jennifer Murphy is an artist who creates seasonal, whimsical, vintage inspired, little characters. You can see some of her original work at http://www.jmurphybears.com/home.html, or check out Midwest of Canon Falls who produces some of Jennifer's creations seasonally on a larger scale (go to http://www.bayberrycove.com/). To experience a little more of my day in Savannah, visit @ Home at vintagegeneral.com

(Jennifer Murphy was also featured on the Martha Stewart Show recently. Check it out by going to http://www.marthastewart.com/ and search for "Pumpkin People")

Vintage Collecting for Baby

The phrase, "I'm having a baby" is basically synonymous with the phrase, "I'm going shopping" . With all of the fantastic products on the market today, it's not hard to find what baby needs. After you've registered for all of your newborn necessities, consider doing some shopping of a different sort... collecting. Starting a vintage collection for baby can be fun and exciting, not to mention add some character to the nursery. Start by browsing through an antique store to get an idea of what you like, then use sources such as eBay, garage sales, and flea markets to expand your collection. The choices are endless and the quest is never dull. I've posted some of the vintage collections that adorn my own daughter's nursery. As you can see, I chose items that I found entertaining and whimsical. You can choose items that appeal to your sense of style, or simply pick items that entertain you. Visit one of our home shows or events to check out some of our vintage resale baby accessories. Until then... happy hunting!!! ~Megan
